The style of cycle you ride and the amount of usage will always dictate the frequency of servicing. Listed below are basic checks which should be used purely as a guide to general used. All of our qualified cycle mechanics are trained to the highest industry lever for cycle mechanics (Cytech NVQ)
Like other vehicles and machinery cycles should be regularly serviced and maintained to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently. All parts are charged in addition to labour along with the charge for fitting these parts (except for our platinum service)Īt Chiltern Velo we have limited space for storing customers repaired bikes and therefore will have to charge a fee of £3.00 per day storage for any bike that is not collected on the date agreed. We have a minimum labour charge of £10.00. Any comments or feedback will be greatly appreciated and will help improve operations.All prices are listed above as a guideline and can vary depending on the style., age and condition of bike.

NOTE - We are unfortunately unable to accept debit cards for rental deposits during this time. Note that we DO NOT provide renters with a helmet. Renters will be issued a U-lock and key, and a pair of lights if needed. Clients can rent a bike for $15 per week for up to a month. There is a $160 damage deposit which will be refunded when the bike is returned.

If you are interested in renting a bike please fill out the rental registration form below and drop in at the Bike Library! Our Bike Fleet consists of City, Mountain, and Road bikes and are well maintained by our Bike Mechanic and Staff. The Bike Library has a variety of bikes available for rent. If you want to repair your bike or have it checked up please drop in with your bike during our hours! We are open in the Winter semester! Our Bike Mechanic and volunteers will help you along the entire process and also give you some advice on the way! A happy bike is a well-maintained and looked-after bike! In the workshop, participants will be able to work on their own bike. Topics include regular checks, drivetrain cleaning, lubricating your chain, and simple brake and shifting adjustments. The workshop covers the basics of bike maintenance and caring for your bike.
The Bike Library & Workshop will remain open over the winter hosting various workshops & events catered to winter cycling/activities!
We are fully equipped with the tools and space. Rentals usually run between April-October. The Bike Library & Workshop is a community bike shop on campus and is an initiative under Sustain SU.
